Repairing Blown Hydraulic Hose on Off-Road Dump Truck
After blowing the hose and towing the truck to high ground, it’s time to fix the hose. Luckily, most of the hoses on this truck are very accessible. In this case I didn’t have to remove any shields to get to this one. Well, one shield, but it was hinged so I just had to open it up. But no heavy lifting. With the right wrench I had it off in less than 5 minutes. Shop rebuilt it, and back on in another 5 minutes. Back to work!
God bless the little ones! My daughter came along to “help”. She really was stuck in the mud. It didn’t look like it, but I didn’t think about the sticking properties of the clay. I told her to back up a little and she plopped down on her butt, luckily on a dry spot!
