Spraying soapy water on the power steering pump doesn’t produce the problem. Spraying the alternator does. Bad alternator??
In the winter time the power steering pump slips and you have no steering for a few minutes. In the summer time its fine. But if I spray soapy water on the power steering pump it won’t slip. If I spray the alternator it makes the power steering slow down.
I think the alternator is not spinning freely under a load and slows down the entire belt system. But, there are two different belts coming off the water pump. One for the power steering and one for the alternator. The water pump is driven off of the crankshaft.
